Donald Trump extends weekend stay in Pa. with town hall in Lancaster on Sunday

WASHINGTON —- Former President Donald Trump, scheduled to hold a rally in Latrobe, Westmoreland County, on Saturday, is going to stay in the most populous battleground state a little longer.

The Trump campaign announced he will also hold a town hall Sunday evening at the Lancaster Convention Center.

Earlier on Sunday, he’s scheduled to work at a Philadelphia-area McDonald’s, according to a source familiar with his schedule. Trump has called Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ anecdote of working at the fast-food giant as a student a "fake story" but hasn’t offered any proof to support his assertion.

Lancaster County is one of the areas where Democrats said their vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, might be able to hold down Republican margins given his rural roots, including growing up on a farm in Nebraska.

Polls show the race in Pennsylvania neck and neck, with neither candidate holding a lead larger than the margin of error.

On the Democratic side, Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned in Erie on Monday and Mr. Walz was in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
