Trickling pain
The Republicans have long promoted trickle down economics, a discredited claim that cutting taxes for the wealthy will create benefits that will trickle down to the poor and middle class. As Gary Blumenthal points out (“Sen. McCormick, for Pennsylvania’s good, change your mind,” July 1), the only thing that trickles down is pain.
How many of us have family members who rely on programs like Medicaid, SNAP and CHIP healthcare and will be required to fill the void left by the Big Beautiful Bill? How many of us have grandchildren who will be saddled with our bloated national debt. How many of us will pay higher State and local taxes to replace the AWOL federal government?
Seems there is more than a trickle of pain coming.
