Man fatally struck while crossing McKnight Road in Ross

A Pittsburgh man trying to cross McKnight Road in Ross died Friday night when he was hit by a vehicle.

Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported the man was on foot when he was struck around 8 p.m. near Babcock Boulevard. PennDOT reported the road was closed in both directions for a time while emergency crews responded.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Saturday identified the man as William D. McClendon, 61, of East Hills.
